Did you understand, in order for individuals to really see your posts nowadays, Facebook is forcing you to spend for exposure?

Doesn't that appear rather odd? Being that individuals have essentially chosen to follow your business page by casting their vote and attacking the "LIKE" button, wouldn't it make good sense when you develop a new post, your fans would see it?

Well, it doesn't work that way any longer. Today if you desire even more eyes on your posts, you will need to spend for it! (and very much I might include!).

Okay so back in June of 2013, when Facebook wasn't quite as greedy as it is today, in the post below you can see that 35 individuals naturally saw the post.

Quick forward to April of 2014, I decided to run a test to see if making use of the boost post function on Facebook would be worth the cash invested.

Via another advertising project I am making use of, I created a few different discount coupon offers to share on my business page. As you can see below, the discount coupon for a complimentary smoke alarm without paying to boost the post was just viewed by 8 individuals. Pretty unfortunate don't you think?

Next it was time to break out the charge card!

I decided to invest id="mce_marker"5.00 and targeted my marketing to certain individuals interested in house security. The outcome, 7480 individuals saw the post. Not bad but who are these individuals and exactly how engaged are they?

Now I have to state, I'm a little miffed with Facebook's monitoring stats. As you can see, there are three different conflicting outcomes showing. Above, 7480 individuals saw the post. The concern is, of that number, exactly how lots of were organic vs paid?

Merely hover over the orange bar (revealed below) in the "Reach" area and it reveals 209 are organic. Meanings that 7271 led to paid views ... Excellent to understand! But ...

The confusion hinges on the Engagement and Post Clicks ... In one area it reveals 42 post clicks, (at the top) and in bench graph below, it reveals just 28 post clicks. Why the distinction? Exact same holds true for the "likes".

Interestingly enough, if I dig deeper in the stats and click the “See Results” I get yet a different set of numbers. 6819 paid results vs the 7271 number above, with only 13 engaged as opposed to 26 listed above.

At the end of the day it actually doesn't matter why the numbers don't match. All that matters is the ROI of the spending plan invested. After all, boost promoting your Facebook page has one function, to produce leads and sales, right?

Well, in the end, according to Facebook's crazy monitoring approaches, the long blue bar in the display shot above reveals 7 "Link Clicks". Which breaks down to $2.14 per click, not my concept of cost efficient pay per click marketing!

Truthfully, I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out the distinction between Link Clicks and Post Clicks. If I paid to boost promote my discount coupon, and someone clicked on the discount coupon (post), that is a direct link to my advertisement.

How does Facebook figure I just had 7 link clicks when in the display shots above they provide 28 or 42 post clicks, depending upon which stat you decide to think!

I would feel a heck of lot better if the real number is 42 clicks, that would bring down my CPC to.36 cents. Even at 28 clicks, the CPC would be just.54 cents. Those are numbers I can live with.
